01Company

Experience first. Then a company.

XO11 UAV Systems is a young company with a single focus: fixed-wing UAVs. It designs, develops, manufactures, integrates and flight-tests aircraft, and it builds for other UAV teams.

It did not start from a blank page. The founder brings seven years of fixed-wing aircraft design and around 45 aircraft built. That is seven years of learning what works in the air, not just on paper.

That experience is now a process. Every aircraft XO11 designs follows it, with four design reviews before anything is fabricated and a flight test before delivery.

02Engineering process

How an XO11 aircraft gets built.

Seven stages, in order. Four design reviews (DR-1 to DR-4) stand between design and fabrication, and a flight test stands between the finished aircraft and delivery.

01 / CON
Concept
The mission is defined first: what the aircraft has to do, how far and how long it has to fly, and what it has to carry.
02 / DES
Design
The concept becomes an aircraft: wing and tail sizing, layout, weight budget and structure.
03 / REV
Design reviews

Four formal reviews, DR-1 to DR-4, between design and fabrication. Nothing is cut until the design has passed all four.
04 / FAB
Fabrication
The airframe and its parts are built to the reviewed design.
05 / INT
Integration
Propulsion, power, avionics and control systems are installed, wired and checked on the ground.
06 / FLT
Flight test

The aircraft flies. Its behaviour is tested against the design intent, and the findings feed back into the design.

Delivery
The aircraft is handed over only after it has flown.
